Investigation into Lithgow car crash involving 3 teenagers

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia - Officers attached to Chifley Police District are investigating a single-vehicle crash in the state's Central West late on Tuesday afternoon.

As previously reported, emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on Hassans Wall Road at Lithgow around 4:40pm Tuesday.

A passenger in the car, a 16-year old girl suffered a compound fracture to her left arm.

She was airlifted from the scene and taken to Westmead Hospital for surgery.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District were told the vehicle lost control as it descended from the location, hitting several trees before coming to rest down an embankment.

The driver, a 17-year old youth, and a second 16-year old girl passenger were taken to Lithgow Hospital for observation.
