Police investigating near-drowning of young boy in Sydney's west

SYDNEY, NSW, Australia - A two-year-old boy remains in stable condition after being pulled unresponsive and unconscious from a backyard swimming pool on Sunday.

The boy was found d near-drowned around 12:40pm Sunday at a home in Blacktown, in Sydney's west.

Emergency services were called to the scene. New South Wales ambulance paramedics treated the boy poolside before he was taken to the Children's Hospital at Westmead.

Officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
